He asked what the City needed to do in a partnership to <br />do a large scale project which would involve the72 homes. <br /> <br />Ms. Riganti said the City can reach out to Habitat as it previously did. She said work was <br />presently being done with another developer. The City can reach out to Washington <br />University to talk about in-fill construction. <br /> <br />The University City economic outlook has strengths and challenges <br />Strengths of University City include: <br /> <br /> Diverse, well educated workforce <br /> <br /> Sound infrastructure <br /> <br /> Central location <br /> <br /> Local amenities <br /> <br /> Thriving Loop business district <br /> <br /> Well-maintained properties <br /> <br /> Available properties for redevelopment <br />Challenges include: <br /> <br /> Uncertain national economy <br /> <br /> City is landlocked; little land is available for development or expansion <br /> <br /> Perception of high tax rate <br /> <br /> Some properties not being used for highest and best use <br /> <br />The Olive Boulevard traffic count is 21,000 cars per day. The corridor should contain a <br />variety of uses with different character areas. Olive should be a multi-modal transportation <br />corridor that is safe, efficient, and well-connected for all users regardless of age or ability.
