He reo.m~,,=~led denial. <br /> <br />Ms. Jan Soott, 6223 ~, said Rotary sees itself as a group that pro- <br />vides service to University City. It has helped at Fair in the Square, re- <br />cently initiated a program to honor c~/tst~ high school s~ents, and ba~ <br />just underta~ a program to identify new residents f~-~. other countries to <br />try to help them adjust to life here. She said Rotary wants to represent th~ <br />city, make it a better place, and would rather not move to another location. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said non-profit organizations such as Rotary pay about half <br />the riorail rental rate and he did not ~ how an exception could be made un- <br />less it applied to other non-profit users. He said the Park C~m,~ssion <br />look_~_ at all ~he C~m~nity Oenter users about seven years ago and identified <br />those that were City-sponsored activities. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman said sb~ sym~a~zed with this request but felt it would open <br />the door to many other such requests. <br /> <br />Mr. Oottc~ moved denial. Mrs. Schuman seconded tb~ motion, and all voted Aye <br />except Mrs. Thompson, who voted Nay. <br /> <br />(I~DITI(~AL US~ ~ - 7547 OLIVE <br /> <br />The City Manager concurred with the Plan C~.,.,i.~mion reo~,u,~ndation to approve <br />a conditional use permit for the Living Word Church to use a portion of the <br />c~,~rcial building at 7547 Olive provided: <br /> <br />1. The park/r~ lot shall retain the current parking stall layout but shall <br /> include at least 3 spaces designed for handicapped access. <br />2. The occupancy of the church shall be limited to a maximum of 160 adults <br /> at any time. <br />3. The space in the north wing which is not shown on the floor plan shall be <br /> limited to storage and office use with no more than 2 persons on the <br /> premises in connection with this use wb~n tb~ church is in use for reli- <br /> gious services, adult education or assembly uses. <br />4. A detailed landscaping plan shall be submitted to the Director of Plan- <br /> ning no later than April 1, 1995, for his review and approval. ~he plan <br /> <br /> tional yard along the north side of the parking lot. All landscaping <br /> shall be installed no later than November 1, 1995 and shall be mintained <br /> in acoordance with the approved plan. <br />5. Refuse containers shall be stored north of the north wing of the building <br />6. Signs shall be installed and maintained in strict c~liance with the <br />provisions of the University City Sign Code. <br />7. There shall be no change in ownership status that includes purchase by a <br /> person, association, corporation, institution or fou~___~tion that has been <br /> designated as exempt fr~ payment of any tax levied by the City unless <br /> the change in status is first reviewed and authorized by the City Council <br /> under the Site Review process. <br /> <br /> <br />
