Meeting Minutes –University CityGreen Practices Committee <br />November 8, 2012 <br />Page 2 <br />b.The Commission would like to have LED lighting replacements for <br />route. Even if LED technology is more expensive to purchase, the LED energy cos <br />make up for the differences in price on the existing high pressu sodium (less efficient) lights. <br />c.The Commission is aware that no trees are planned on the Univers <br />d.The Commission was informed that Dave Sandel is developing the media hub part of the project. <br />e.The Commission is aware that the project team has coordinated with Washington University (on <br />their new buildings planned for the eastern end of the project) <br />f.The Commission was informed the construction is tentatively sche- <br />February and the project duration is 10 to 12 months. The construction will include shutting <br />down sections of the Delmar in two block stretches and working o <br />time. In addition, construction of the round-about and the trolley will progress at the same time <br />on both ends of Delmar. <br />g.The Commission was informed that the signage and graphics were n <br />be ready by the 11/28/12 Plan Commission meeting. <br />5.New Business How subcommittees will present their topics to the full Commissi <br />resolved and will be a work in progress. <br />a.Lois Sechrist suggested that topics to be presented could do so at alternating <br />Commission meetings. She envisioned a special presentations form <br />sufficient information to present. <br />b.Jeff Mishkin thought it was a good idea and wanted to make sure people who were <br />interested can come to that particular meeting. <br />c.Jerry Breakstone was concerned about this format requiring too much time from oth <br />meeting business. He asked how other Commissions handled subcommittee reports if <br />indeed they had a subcommittee structure similar to ours. <br />d.Lois Sechrist will give the format of presentations more consideration. <br /> <br /> 6.
