<br />1. BILL 9167 <br /> – An ordinance accepting the dedication of certain permanent Right-of- <br />Way easements from the School District of University City regarding property located <br />at 7358 Balson Avenue, 7400 Balson Avenue and Lot 24 of Central Suburbs, located <br /> <br />in the City of University City, Missouri. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved for approval, was seconded by Ms. Carr. <br /> <br />Roll call vote was: <br />Ayes: Mr. Price, Ms. Carr, Mr. Kraft, Mr. Crow, Mr. Sharpe, and Mayor Welsch <br />Nays: none <br />Excused: Mr. Glickert <br /> <br />Bill 9167 carried unanimously and became ordinance 6900. <br /> <br />N NEW BUSINESS <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />1. Resolution 2012 – 14 <br /> Support of goals of the Deer Creek Watershed Management <br />Plan and implementation of a RainScape Rewards Rebate Program. <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Carr moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Kraft. <br /> <br />Ms. Jane Zeni, 1310 Midland Drive <br />Ms. Zeni spoke in support of the great opportunity and the partnership with the Deer <br />Creek Watershed Coalition in regard to the RainScape Rewards Rebate Program. <br />She asked Council to approve the resolution. <br /> <br />Ms. Karen Robards, 7358 Carleton Avenue <br />Ms. Robards expressed her support of the Deer Creek Watershed Management plan <br />and the implementation of the rebate program. She also said that at least ten families <br />had expressed an interest, which was a solid group of citizens who were seriously <br />looking at being able to address this problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Michael E. O’Neal, 7358 Carleton Avenue <br />Mr. O’Neal expressed his support for the resolution, but also stated other potential <br />such as to showing a neighborhood the effect storm water run-off can have and how it <br />can be improved. He said this program could be used as a model and as an example <br />for other communities, to show how neighborhoods can mitigate future water run-off in <br />other areas. <br /> <br />Mr. Ted Slegesky, 7430 Melrose <br />Mr. Slegesky encouraged the Council to support the resolution because he felt it <br />would improve water quality by reducing run-off and erosion. He said it was a good <br />opportunity for citizens, at no cost to the City, to would improve water quality in the <br />City. <br /> <br />Mr. Eric Karch, 7310 Shaftesbury Avenue <br />Mr. Karch also representing the River Des Peres Watershed Coalition spoke in <br />support of the resolution. He stated that the engineering community stood behind <br />RainScaping as a way to improve water quality. Mr. Karch said this resolution would <br />7 <br /> <br /> <br />
