Session 1764
August 30, 1999

Mr. Wagner moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Sharpe seconded the
motion, which carried unanimously.

AGENDA #2 - ENGINEERING CONTRACTS - WALTON ROAD AND 82 .D BLVD.
BRIDGES:

Mr. Ollendorff said the engineerin8 firm of Burns & McDonnell was selected to
assist us with developin8 an application to submit to East-West Gateway for
Federal fundin8 for the Walton Road BridSe and to provide enSineerin8 services
for the 82nd Blvd. over the River Des Peres bridge. Burns and McDonnell was
selected from among four engineering firms that were considered. Now that
Federal funding is secured for both bridges, authorization to contract with Burns
and McDonnell is recommended to continue providing engineering services for the
Walton Road, and the 82nd Blvd. over the River Des Peres bridges for a cost not to
exceed $61,759.16 and $57,882.53 respectively.

Mr. Sharpe moved approval. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion.

Mr. Lieberman asked if the City received any relief from the previous engineers
which did the poor job in estimating the 82nd Street/Walton Street Bridge. Mr.
Ollendorff replied that the Assistant City Manager, Gregory Rose, convinced them
to give us all the field work and engineering drawings which were done on the
previous contract. These can be turned over to the new engineers thereby saving
money on the new contract. Responding to Mr. Lieberman further, Mr. Ollendorff
said that the drawings were not faulty, only the previous engineer's estimate of
the costs.

The motion passed unanimously.

AGENDA #3 - 2000 COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULE:

Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of next year's Council meetings and
budget studies as follows:

January 10 & 24
February 7
March 6 & 20
April 3 & 17
May 8 & 22
June 5 & 19

July 10 & 24
August 7 & 21
September 11 & 25
October 16 & 30
November 13 & 27
December 18

3
