Session 1765
September 23, 1999

AGENDA #3 - 7930 OLIVE:

An application to sell beer and wine by the drink at retail in a new restaurant at
this location has been reviewed and found to be in order. The prior restaurant at
this location had a liquor license with no reported problems or complaints,
however, the extensive length of time vacant now requires that a public hearing
be held by the Council before taking action on the application. The City Council
has waived the 6 month waiting period for experienced applicants or for locations
where licenses previously existed. Mr. Rose recommends setting the public
hearing date on October 4 at 7:30 p.m. in these Council Chambers. The
premises will be posted with this public hearing information.

Mr. Sharpe moved approval. Mr. Lieberman seconded the motion.

Mr. Lieberman would like to see the application form completed with the sales volume
for food and liquor by the next meeting.

The motion carried unanimously.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS:

BILL NO. 8437 - PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY
OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR
OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY,
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6174.

The bill was given its second reading.
The bill was given its third reading.

Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Ms. Colquitt seconded the motion. The roll call vote
was as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe, Mayor
Adams. NAYS: none. Bill Number 8437 passed and became Ordinance Number 6218.

BILL NO. 8438 - AMENDING CHAPTER 10.16 OF THE CITY'S MUNICIPAL
CODE, RELATING TO RULES OF THE ROAD, BY REPEALING SECTION
10.16.110 THEREOF, RELATING TO DRIVING THROUGH A FUNERAL OR
OTHER PROCESSION, AND SECTION 10.16.120 THEREOF, RELATING TO
DRIVING IN A PROCESSION, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW
SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.16.110 ORGANIZED FUNERAL
PROCESSIONS," AND "SECTION 10.16.120 OTHER PROCESSIONS,"

4
