Session 1769 <br />November 8, 1999 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams personally thanked both of these citizens for agreeing to serve on these two <br />important commissions. Citizen service really makes the City work and is one of the great <br />hallmarks of University City. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (1 ITEM): <br /> <br />#1 -Roof Replacement- 630 Trinity: Invitations to Bid were sent to four contractors for <br />the UCRS roof replacement due to' major leaks. The following bids were received: <br /> <br />Bartch Roofing ......................... $40,206.00 <br />Top Priority Roofing .................... $45,820.00 <br />Complete Roofing ...................... $38,571.00 <br />Kriberg Roofing ........................ $31,921.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding this project to Kriberg Roofing for their low bid of <br />$31,921.00. This was not budgeted, therefore we will require a transfer of funds. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion, <br />which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - PUBLIC HEARING: 86~?.-8650 BARBY: <br /> <br />A public hearing has been set for 7:30 p.m. this date and place to hear comments on the <br />proposed rezoning of two lots at 8644 and 8650 Barby Lane from Single Family to High <br />Density Residential. Following consideration of comments at this public hearing and review <br />of a conditional use permit application the Council may request preparation of a rezoning <br />bill. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams opened the hearing at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Daniel Talonn, 8661 Barby Lane, wished to remind Council that this was a residential <br />neighborhood and that, although the McKnight Place Management has been pretty good <br />neighbors so far, they were slowly but surely creeping up the street. This area has good <br />stability and excellent housing stock. He wanted to make sure that the residents in this <br />area were safeguarded against poor planning, as far as traffic, parking, construction traffic, <br />and aesthetics were concerned. <br /> <br />There being no further requests to speak, Mayor Adams closed the public hearing at 7:36 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
