<br />Mr. Price said he needed to clarify what he had spoken on the second time. He said <br />he made an individual statement of what he wanted the City Manager to do but <br />needed to know from his other colleagues if that was a consensus opinion or they <br />were fine with the lease in its current state. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that based on what Ms. Forster said, the current lease with the <br />Sutter Meyer Society is clear on this issue that it gives the lessor, the City, the <br />authority to do such work, if it so chooses but could not be forced to do so, and to <br />arrange repayment from the Society with a 5% interest. The Mayor stated the lease <br />that was approved by previous Council is clear on this issue. <br /> <br />Roll Call vote on the removal of the $15,000 for the painting of Sutter Meyer house <br />from the FY 14 budget was: <br />AYES: Mr. Crow, Ms. Carr <br />NAYS: Mr. Kraft, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe, Mr. Price, Mayor Welsch <br /> <br />Roll Call Vote on approval of Resolution 2013 – 6 Fiscal Year 2014 Budget <br />AYES: Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe,, Mr. Price, Mr. Kraft, Mayor Welsch <br />NAYS: Mr. Crow, Ms. Carr <br /> <br />University City Fiscal Year 2014 budget passed with a majority. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated she was not involved in the discussion on the floor and wanted <br />to clarify for residents and members of the media that staff proposed a budget to this <br />Council that came in with a surplus, additional funds were added by members of <br />Council as pointed out by a number of her colleagues on the podium but the initial <br />budget recommended to the Council did show a surplus. <br /> <br />BILLS <br />Introduced by Mr. Sharpe <br />2. BILL 9183 <br />– An ordinance approving a final plat for a minor subdivision of a tract of <br />land to be known as Olive Boulevard 7531-7547 consolidation plat, part of Lot 16 and <br /> <br />Lot 17 of Mount Olive Subdivision. <br /> <br />O. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION <br />Beverly Williams, 6509 Corbitt <br />Ms. Williams stated that she fights for the youth and senior citizens in her area. She <br />stated she called City Hall many times this day with no answer and felt like there was a <br />violation of Civil Rights and Amendment 14 with the hiring and firing of youth. Ms. <br />Williams noted she did not like it, saw the unfairness and wanted something done about <br />it. She did not think children, young adults, trying to make their way to be part of society <br />in a very positive way should be shunned by City Hall. <br /> <br />Edward McCarthy, 7101 Princeton Ave <br />Mr. McCarthy asked Councilmembers to drive by Blackberry and Hanley Rd. He said <br />there is a pod in the street at the corner and you could not expect cars to see to get out. <br />Mr. McCarthy said it was a traffic issue and noted at some point in time Council would <br />have to deal with this and with private and public streets. <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br /> <br />
