Other Discussions/Business
Council summer meeting schedule

Mr. Sharpe stated in the months of July and August the Council has a smaller
amount of business to conduct and recommended that July and August Council
have only one meeting in each month.

Ms. Carr noted she understood everyone’s desire to take time for vacations but
she said she was elected to get some work done. She presently has nine issues
to address over the next couple of months so Council would have to stay late if
there was only one meeting a month, as she would load up the agenda.

Mr. Price said – stay late.

Mayor Welsch asked Mr. Sharpe if he had a preference as to which meeting he
would remove in each month. Mr. Sharpe said he did not have a preference.

Mr. Glickert noted that July and August agendas are light and Mr. Sharpe’s
request was reasonable. He said if Council has only one meeting a month, they
should meet on the first scheduled meeting of that month and cancel the second
monthly meeting, so if something would come up they could add the second
meeting back in.

Mr. Glickert moved to have one meeting in July: July 8, 2013, and cancel the
July 23, 2013 meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and carried
unanimously.

Mr. Glickert move to have one meeting in August: August 12, 2013, and cancel
the August 26, 2013 meeting, was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion
carried unanimously.

Mayor Welsch stated that she told her colleague when he brought forward this
request that she liked two meetings every month and hoped that if work comes
up for the Council that needs immediate attention, Council will know that the
cancelled meeting may be rescheduled. Mayor Welsch noted she asked Mr.
Walker if he had any concerns about this schedule change and he felt that the
anticipated work load would allow for the meeting cancellations.
3
