Session 1687, Minutes 2 <br />February 10, 1997 <br /> <br />CIT~ M~NA~ER' S REPORTS <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS) <br /> <br />Tax Increment Finance Annual Reports 1995-1996: The Olive Boulevard Central <br />and Olive East Tax Increment Finance District reports have been submitted. <br />City Manager recommended approval. <br /> <br />Computer Equipment - Police Department: Quotes were received to purchase two <br />new IBM manufactured computer systems for the Police Department. These <br />computers will be paid for by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. <br />IBM was requested due to an existing maintenance agreement with IBM. <br />Recommended bid from only bidder, Alexander Systems, Inc., be accepted for <br />$5,384.00. <br /> <br />Automobile for Fire Chief: Bids were requested for the immediate purchase of a <br />new 1996 Chevrolet Lumina, 4 door model for the Fire Chief. This vehicle will <br />replace the Chief's vehicle which was lost in a recent accident. Recommended <br />Bid #3 from Jim Butler Chevrolet for $16,600, due to it being the best <br />condition vehicle. Mr. Munkel seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF LIFE SKILLS FOUNDATION SOLICITATION PERMIT <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended that the Council approve the request of the Life <br />Skills Foundation to allow volunteer representatives to conduct a Tag Day in <br />University City on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, 1997. <br />Solicitations would take place in front of businesses. They were asked to send <br />a representative to tonight's meeting. Mr. Ollendorff stated that Life Skills <br />did not fill out the application area asking for their estimated expenses, <br />referring the City to their Audit Report instead. Mr. Ollendorff reported <br />that he had not been able to read through the Audit Report as of yet and was <br />unable to give the Council the information. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated that although he had a great deal of respect for the Life <br />Skills Foundation, he was very disappointed that they were unable to find the <br />time to send a representative to the Council to answer questions or to fully <br />complete the application form. Mr. Wagner moved that the Life Skills <br />Foundation's request be tabled until such time that they were able to <br />completely fill out the application form. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion. <br />All voted Aye, except Mr. Schoomer, who voted Nay. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams reminded Council that only those Councilmembers voting in the <br />affirmative could ask to have a proposal removed from the table. <br /> <br /> <br />
