concerned about, the statements were used to add additional pressure to <br />Councilmembers and hustle them along. <br /> <br />Voice vote to approve the minutes as amended carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch noted that the minutes consisted of 31 pages and stated that while she <br />understands that the majority of this Council has asked that minutes be more or less <br />verbatim, Robert’s Rules of Order, which this Council follows, discourages this type of <br />minute taking, as does the City’s legal counsel. Therefore she hoped that in the future <br />Council would consider changing this method of minute taking. <br /> <br />F. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />Sloan Marion was nominated for appointment to the Youth Commission by Mayor <br />Welsch, seconded by Mr. Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />Mark Barnes was nominated for appointment to the Traffic Commission by Ms. Carr, <br />seconded by Mr. Crow and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />Rodney Dylan Allen was nominated for appointment to the Youth Commission by <br />Mr. Glickert, seconded by Mr. Kraft and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />Diane Davenport was nominated for appointment to the Youth Commission by Mr. <br />Glickert, seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. <br />Malik Johnson was nominated for appointment to the Youth Commission by Mr. <br />Price, seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. <br />Malcolm Hill, Assistant Principal of University City High School was appointed to the <br />Youth Commission by Michael Maclin, Principal of University City High School. <br /> <br />7. <br />Dawn Price was nominated for appointment to the Parks Commission by Mr. <br />Sharpe, seconded by Ms. Carr and the motion carried by a majority vote with an <br />abstention by Mr. Price. <br /> <br />8. <br />Ann Cortinovis, Mary Dee Schmidt and Adelia Parker-Castro were nominated for an <br />extension of their term; until April 30, 2014, to the Arts & Letters Commission, by Ms. <br />Carr. Hearing no challenges the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. <br />Roger McFarland was nominated for reappointment to the Board of Adjustment by <br />Mr. Price. Hearing no challenges the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. <br />Angelene Hayes was nominated for reappointment to the Human Relations <br />Commission by Ms. Carr, seconded by Mr. Glickert and the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr called for a Point of Information, stating that if she remembers correctly, <br />Council was not to appoint individuals to a commission if they had resigned from <br />another commission, and therefore would ask for advice on this matter.
