Session 1771
December 20, 1999

early January therefore he recommends that Council request preparation of an appropriate
bill granting these easements for the January 10 meeting. Council will receive more
information from staff prior to that meeting.

Mr. Wagner requested the preparation of the appropriate legislation.

AGENDA ITEM #7: LIQUOR LICENSE - 6605 DELMAR:

A new corporation wishes to acquire the existing license for Fitz's restaurant to sell
intoxicating liquor of all kinds by the drink. Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of this
transfer since the applicant/manager has a clear record and the corporation is registered in
good standing with the State of Missouri. There have been no liquor law violations or major
police problems at this location going back at least two years. The applicant indicates that
they expect no major change in the operation of this restaurant with current management
remaining in place.

Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion.

Mayor Adams directed the City Clerk to make sure that the address under Exhibit A is
corrected to properly reflect a University City address.

AGENDA ITEM #8: SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS:

Mr. Ollendorff recommends acceptance by the City Council of the extensive summer
programming developed by our Parks & Recreation department including modifications
recommended by the Park Commission. In addition to the many previously offered
activities we propose adding more basketball, babysitting and coaching opportunities.
Some fee adjustments are included ranging from facility rentals to tennis permits. These
will be more specifically dealt with during the City's budget process. Council concurrence
in these programs is requested at this time so that we can do a good job of organizing and
publicizing the offerings.

Mr. Sharpe moved approval. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion.

Responding to Mr. Munkel, Mr. Ollendofff stated that the babysitting that is mentioned is
for training teenagers only. The state has agreed that the City does not have to license our
after school programs, so the City remains in compliance with state requirements.

The motion carried unanimously.

7
