Mr. Schoomer stated that the Civic Plaza plan could be amended or changed, but <br />the minor gates are not part of the plan now. <br /> <br />Ms. Glickert also passed an article to the City Clerk for distribution to the Council <br />concerning a Supreme Court decision giving changing neighborhoods throughout the nation <br />steps to protect their economic and racial diversity. She believes that Council should read <br />it. <br /> <br />CITY CLERK'S DOCKET: <br /> <br />EMERGENCY BILLS FOR ACTION: <br /> <br />1. An emergency bill was introduced by Mr. Sharpe, entitled: <br /> <br />GRANTING, SELLING AND CONVEYING TO THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS <br />SEWER DISTRICT AN EASEMENT IN LOT 46 OF BLOCK 32 OF DARSTDALE <br />NO.2 SUBDIVISION IN UNIVERSITY CITY; CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY <br />CLAUSE. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that MSD needs two easements, one on the north side and one on the <br />south side of the River Des Peres - west from 82nd. On the south side to continue a sewer <br />tunnel that goes through University City that goes past the high school and on west. The <br />second easement is on the north side of the river in order to construct sanitary sewers to <br />connect to the new tunnel and for widening the river for storm drainage control at a future <br />date. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Munkel, Mr. Ollendofff stated that MSD is widening the River Des Peres <br />a block at a time on a every year or two year basis, whenever they acquire the property. <br />Right now they are in the easement acquisition stage for the storm sewer and their <br />intention is to keep moving west probably in two years. <br /> <br />The bill was assigned Bill # 8445 and given its first reading. <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as <br />follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. <br />Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none.
