Session 1773 <br />January 24, 2000 <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval with the requests made by the homeowners. Mr. Munkel <br />seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, <br />Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe, Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. <br />Bill Number 8447 became Ordinance Number 6227. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8448 - AMENDING CHAPTER 10.36 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO REGULATIONS FOR SPECIFIC STREETS, BY REPEALING SECTION <br />10.36.170 THEREOF, RELATING TO CLOSED STREET INTERSECTIONS- <br />BARRICADES, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN <br />AS "SECTION 10.36.170 CLOSED STREET INTERSECTIONS-BARRICADES," <br />THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ADD TO THE LIST OF CLOSED <br />STREET INTERSECTIONS BOYNTON AVENUE; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE <br />AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval. Bill Number 8448 became Ordinance Number <br />6228. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8449 - AMENDING CHAPTER 10.44 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON SPECIFIC STREETS, BY REPEALING <br />SECTION 10.44.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING PROHIBITED ON <br />CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br />THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.44.020 PARKING <br />PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS", THEREBY <br />AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING DURING DESIGNATED <br />HOURS ON LINDELL BOULEVARD; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated that he and Mr. Lieberman had been discussing this situation with the <br />neighbors and they have come to the conclusion that this bill as presented is not the proper <br />solution for the Lindell residents. They would like to see a residential parking sticker <br />system set up for them. <br /> <br />Julie Bloomquist, 7103 Westmoreland Dr., stated that she supported a residential parking <br />sticker system for the entire surrounding Washington University area which would also <br />allow limited access to non-residents. She asked the Council not to pass the 10-2 parking <br />restriction bill. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />
