Session 1776 <br />March 6, 2000 <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved adoption. Mr. Lieberman seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved the appointment of Ms. Dawn Mahoney, 430 Melville, to the Arts and <br />Letters Commission for a term ending January 2, 2004. Mr. Lieberman seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />SWEARING IN OF CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER: <br /> <br />Chief Metcalf announced the recent promotion of Captain Steve Olshwanger to the City's <br />first position as Chief Medical Officer. Chief Metcalf announced that this is a major step in <br />the University City EMS department and noted that the City was very proud to have Captain <br />OIshwanger here. He introduced Captain Olshwanger's father and wife. <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office to Captain OIshwanger. Applause followed. <br />Captain Olshwanger's wife pinned her husband's badge in place. <br /> <br />Chief Metcalf said that the City could look forward to a better EMS than the City has ever <br />had. This department is an excellent one already, but this will help create a better <br />atmosphere for the entire fire department. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS): <br /> <br />#1 -Picnic Beer License- Lourdes School PTA: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of <br />the annual license to sell beer at the parish picnic for Our Lady of Lourdes at 7157 <br />Northmoor on May 27. This annual event has always been well organized and enjoyable <br />for all concerned. <br /> <br />#2 - Picnic LiQuor License - Habitat for Humanity: Mr. OIlendorff recommends approval of <br />a license to sell beer for Habitat for Humanity St. Louis at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish <br />on Forsyth. This event is scheduled for April 1, 2000. Similar licenses have been issued <br />at this location in the past without any negative consequences. <br /> <br />#3 - Purchase and Plantinl~ of 125 Trees: Bids for furnishing trees and planting them have <br />been obtained. Invitations to Bid were sent to five area nurseries and tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />Baxter Farm ............... $22,225.00 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
