Petitioner was not present therefore petitioners request was presented
to the Traffic Commission Board by Mrs. Gutierrez.
Mrs. Gutierrez explained that the Fire Department visited the requested parking restriction site and
they are opposing the parking restriction removal. As a result of that visit the recommendation for
approval of the parking restriction has been changed to a recommendation to be denied, in an effort to
insure public safety.
Mrs. Gutierrez shared with the Commission that the property owners of Delcrest Apartments plan on
redeveloping the apartment buildings and will at that time provide more parking for residents. A time
frame for development was not provided and is not known at this time.
Mrs. Gutierrez proposed that communication regarding petitions be conducted via email to save some
time for petitioners when they file for reports. Commissioner Wofsey stated that this Commission
should determine the affected households to be part of the petition, as stated in the By-Laws.
Commissioner Hales suggested that this petition be considered a draft to a final petition with additional
households affected to allow those properties to sign the petition.
Commissioner Hales made a motion to allow the petitioner to get a petition including the affected areas
defined by the Commission (every lot on Delcrest on both sides of the street), including 8300 Delmar
and 8390 Delmar.
