He asked that legislation be drafted to institute <br /> the proposed special business district. <br /> Mayor Majerus thanked all who commented on the proposed district, saying she <br /> had no idea the support would be so overwhelming, and that it was very grati- <br /> fying to the C uracil. Mr. 011endorff said Mary Fahey should also be thanked <br /> for helping all concerned to arrive at this point. <br /> BIDS FOR TURNOUT COATS AND TURNOUT PANTS <br /> The City Manager said five suppliers were asked to bid on 14 each turnout <br /> coats and pants for the Fire Department, with the following response: <br /> Battalion Three, Inc. (female-owned) $6,482.00 <br /> (alternate bid--equipment does not meet <br /> Fire Department specifications) <br /> Leo M. Ellebracht Company 6,591.40 <br /> Banner Fire Equipment (female-owned) 6,695.50 <br /> Battalion Three, Inc. (female-owned) 6,944.00 <br /> Mr. 011endorff recommended acceptance of the law bid meeting specifications <br /> from Leo M. Ellebracht in the amount of $6,591.00. <br /> Mr. Adams moved approval as recommended. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, <br /> which carried unanimously. <br /> LIQUOR LICENSE - 8336 OLIVE BOULEVARD <br /> The City Manager said Asia Trading Company, 8336 Olive, applied for a license <br /> to sell intoxicating liquor up to 22% alcohol by the package at retail. The <br /> applicant professes a desire to sell only cooking wine, however, the requested <br /> license would not limit sales to cooking wine only. <br /> Mrs. Schuman said this situation is similar to one encountered by Council very <br /> recently and she asked if it could be handled the same way, that is, require a <br /> site plan to which certain conditions may be attached. Mr. 011endorff said <br /> the business will be asked to submit a site plan restricting the wine display <br /> to a small area. <br /> Mr. Schocmer moved to table.
