Session 1522, Minutes Page 6 <br /> June 4, 1990 <br /> Ar <br /> ticipate that being a problem, but he was visited by a Missouri Liquor Control <br /> agent who said the State could not grant a license on that basis and the State <br /> license would have to be downgraded to wine and beer until the Council granted <br /> a full liquor by the drink license. If that occurred, his business would suf- <br /> fer since he had a number of catering obligations he would have to cancel. <br /> Therefore, he requested that Council upgrade the license to a full liquor by <br /> the drink license so the business can continue and he may satisfy the State. <br /> Mr. 011endorff said, in view of these circumstances, he would recommend that <br /> Council grant an upgrading to a full liquor by the drink license. <br /> Mr. Schomer moved to reconsider the granting of a full liquor license by the <br /> drink to Mr. Brandt. Mrs. Thompson seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> Mr. Schooner moved that a full liquor license be granted to Brandt's Market, <br /> 6525 Delmar. Mrs. Schuman seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> DILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS <br /> BILL NO. 7962 - AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5746 RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br /> OLIVE EAST SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT BY AMENDING SECTION 12 AND ENACTING <br /> ZEIN A NEW SECTION TO BE MOWN AS "SECTION 12 ELECTION ORDERED," BY ORDER- <br /> ING THE BALLOT FOR SAID ELECTION TO BE MAILED ON JUNE 12, 1990. <br /> Bill No. 7962 was given its second reading. <br /> Bill No. 7962 was given its third reading. <br /> Mr. Schooner moved that this bill be adopted as an ordinance. Mr. Price sec- <br /> onded the motion. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYES: <br /> C uncilmembers Price, Wagner, Schuman, Schooner, Thompson, and Mayor Majerus. <br /> NAYS: None. ABSENT: Councilmember Adams. Bill No. 7962 became Ordinance <br /> No. 5753. <br /> Mrs. Schuman requested that Bill No. 7963 be withdrawn in its present form <br /> since the City Attorney advised that several desired changes would be consid- <br /> ered substantial, and rather than go through the amendment process, the bill <br /> will be reintroduced later in the meeting. <br /> BILL NO. 7964 - PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED vamps OF UNI- <br /> VERSITY CITY THE SETTING OF A TAX RATE FOR THE PUBLIC LIBRARY, TO BE SUBMITTED <br /> TO SAID ELECTORS AT THE GENERAL ELECTION AUGUST 7, 1990. <br /> Bill No. 7964 was given its second reading. <br /> Bill No. 7964 was given its third reading. <br /> Mrs. Schuman moved that this bill be adopted as an ordinance. Mr. Sdioaner <br /> seconded the motion. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYES: <br /> Conncilmembers Wagner, Schuman, Schooner, Thompson, Price, and Mayor Majerus. <br /> NAYS: None. ABSENT: Councilmember Adams. Bill No. 7964 became Ordinance <br /> No. 5754. <br />
