Session 1525, Minutes Page 6 <br /> Lie July 23, 1990 <br /> Mayor Majerus commended the City Manager and the firefighters for concluding <br /> their negotiations in such a speedy and cooperative manner. <br /> 32FSOLLTTIONS <br /> The City Clerk read the title of a resolution which expresses the intent of <br /> the City Council to take necessary actions to adopt a Memorandum of Under- <br /> standing with Local 2655 International Association of Fire Fighters, repre- <br /> senting the City's fire captains. Mr. Schomer moved approval, with Mr. Price <br /> seconding the motion. All voted Aye. <br /> The City Clerk read the title of a second resolution which expresses the in- <br /> tent of the City Council to take necessary actions to adopt a Memorandum of <br /> Understanding with Local 2655 International Association of Firefighters, rep- <br /> resenting the City's firefighters. Mrs. Schuman moved approval. Mr. Wagner <br /> seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mr. Adams, new C *incil liaison to the Pension Boards, asked the City Manager <br /> to have a bill prepared that will make a minor change in the non-uniformed em- <br /> ployees pension plan, as approved by the Pension Board on May 1, 1990 and rat- <br /> ified by a vote of the non-uniformed employees. The change has to do with a <br /> different tax treatment of the 2% employee contribution. <br /> Mrs. Thompson thanked the Council for its support on Sweet 16 Day, the event <br /> sponsored by Radio Station KATZ. She said everyone involved cooperated beau- <br /> tifully and all seemed to have a good time. Mr. Price said Mrs. Thcmoson was <br /> due a vote of thanks since she initiated the action on this event, and he also <br /> thanked the Council for its enthusiastic participation. <br /> Mayor Majerus reminded the audience that the Monday night Concerts in the Park <br /> will be going on through mid-August. Mrs. Schuman said that during the KAT% <br /> party last Sunday a number of people mentioned how much fun it was and that <br /> they would like to do it every week, and she suggested that the Monday night <br /> concerts could serve as the City's weekly community rally. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Mayor Majerus adjourned the meeting at 8:08 p.m. <br /> a. , <br /> Dolores A.
