Mr. Price seconded the motion, <br /> which carried unanimously. <br /> 1990 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT REQUEST <br /> The City Manager recommended approval of the community development grant re- <br /> quest, <br /> as follows: <br /> A. From Repayments: <br /> Home Rehab loans/grants (from repayments—estimate) $ 90,000 <br /> B. New Grant Funds: <br /> Multi-family rehab loans/grants $ 45,000 <br /> Parkview Gardens Police 30,000 <br /> Parkview Gardens Code Enforcement 29,400 <br /> Northeast Area Code Enforcement 12,000 <br /> Commercial Code Enforcement 24,000 <br /> Bridge repairs, concrete repairs, and pavement overlay 87,000 <br /> Treses/Forestry 40,000 <br /> Administration 30,000 <br /> Hcane Rehab Administration 2,000 <br /> Community in Partnership Family Center for the Homeless 3,000 <br /> Total $302,400 <br /> A public hearing was held September 24, 1990 and citizens were invited to com- <br /> ment or make suggestions for this application. Meeting minutes were sent to <br /> the City Council. <br /> Mrs. Schuman said she was happy to see the adjustments in several amounts that <br /> reflect citizen comments from last year and previous public hearings, and she <br /> was particularly pleased to see the challenge grant for the Ccmmauzity in Part- <br /> nership Family Center. Mrs. Schuman said she would like to talk with Mr. 01- <br /> lendorff later regarding complaints still being received about the slow review <br /> of applications for emergency assistance through St. Louis County. <br /> Mr. Price asked what part St. Louis County has in Part A (Hoane Rehab Loans) . <br /> Mr. 011endorff said the County handles the entire program for the City at no <br /> charge, which works much better than when the City tried to do it. Mr. Price <br /> asked if there was anything the City could do to speed up the loan application <br /> process. Mr. 011endorff said there was a one- to two-year backlog of applica- <br /> tions because there was not enough money available. <br /> Mr. Schocaner moved approval. Mr. Adams seconded the motion, which carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Orkse Mayor Majents said she hoped other communities will respond to the City's <br /> challenge grant of $3,000 for the Community in Partnership Family Center for <br /> the Homeless. <br />
