In an~tic~, the walkway eel Birchmont is not being <br />maintained by the City. ~he Mayor said the County Health Department will in- <br />vestigate rat problems. Mr. Lang also olm~lained that snow rem3val %ras poor <br />in his area, and said citizens should be req~m~-ed to rake up their leaves. <br />Mr. Ollendorff said be would look into the issues raised by Mr. Lmlg, but <br />noted the City does not have an ordinance re~,~ring that leaves be raked. <br /> <br />Ms. Molly Edler, 7011 Pershing, and Ma. Maryann Shedhard, 7015 Per~hing, came <br />forwax~. Ma. Edler said they bad grave ocr~erns about Federko's Restaet <br />in the shopping center a~Lues fren t_heir ~. She said it has become a <br />sports bar that attracts young drinkers who litter and are noisy and disrup- <br />tive when they leave tba bar. Parking probl~n~ still continue, with valet <br />parkers putting cars on Pershing even though illegal. The dumpster is also a <br />problem--part of the lid is missing, and the doors to the enclosure are left <br />open and litter blows all over. The are rate in the area. She felt the <br />worst problen w~s the noise late at night both f~u drinkers leaving the bar <br />and employees as they ~L~ty tba ~ and leave. It is often necessary to <br />call the police, bat the problems continue, and Ms. ~dler felt it will get <br />worse as the weather warms. If this restaurant fails as did two otbars, she <br />asked that restrictions be put c~ any business that goes into that space. <br />Ms. She~ said she and bar family are awakened at least four nig~te a week <br />by people leaving the bar. Also, cars without permite consistently park on <br />Pershing and are ticketed by police only sporadically. A ~ckdown would <br />send tha message that Pershing is not a parking lot. She said those leaving <br />the bar are often disorderly, noisy, use prDfanity, and seen not to realize <br />it is a residential area. She asked the City to protect the citizens in this <br />neighborhood by enforcing applicable <br /> <br />Mr. Schoceer as~a Mr. Ollendorff to inform him of the renewal data of Feder- <br />ko's liquor license. <br /> <br />Mr. Jerry Fitch, 1440 Partridge, represent/ng tha Midwest Association of Ten- <br />nis Charities (MAT(~), said several years ago the City made an agreement with <br /> <br />the City with 10% of ite net proceeds. Ha presented a check for $416 to May- <br />or Majerus. There was a round of applause. <br /> <br /> <br />
