There were no re~-ts to speak, and she closed the <br />public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said the University City Beautificaticn C~mmittee armually pre- <br />sents certificates of appreciatioo to University City businesses that have <br />done an outstand/rig job of beautifying their [huperties. Mary Ann Shaw, Jane <br />Schaefer, and Susan Hopper, respectively, [Eesentea_ awards to this year's re- <br />cipients-the Shell station at Hanley and Olive, U. City York Signs, and the <br />Loop Special Business District. ~rept~ for the Business District, Mr. <br />Schoc~er said everything possible will be done to help keep University City <br />beautiful. There was a round of applause. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus asked Ms. Shaw, Ms. Schaefer, and Ms. 54,Far to re~ain at the <br />microphone, and a proclamation was read by the City Clerk which honored then <br />for founding U. City in Blo~n (a volunteer ~uup stal~a by the Beautifica- <br />tion Cummittee) and for their many y~ars of hard ~ork in making the beautifi- <br />cation program an outstaraing success. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved adoption. Mrs. Schuman seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously.
