She al-~o wished to make clear t_hat the
proposed rezcaing does not incl,~e the c~m~texy.

The City Manager said a public being was sd3eduled for this time and place
to receive o,.~m~ents on a Plan C~massic~ ~tion to approve Zoning
Code ~ that would allow small nc~-oamercial trucks to be parked on
private property if they meet strictly defined cenditic~s.

Mayor Majerus opened tba public b~e~ing at 8:16 p.m. and clarified that this
hearing will consider only parking o~ private l~rty, since a public hear-
ing on truck parking c¢~ public streets was held at an earlier hearing.

Mr. Terence Shea, 520 Westgate, asked what would be changed, and Mr. Ollen-
dorff said at present a truck can be parked only in a garage, carport, or
screened r~ yard. T~ change would allow a small lx~l-c~L~ercial tl~/ck (th~-
der 6,000 pounds, no longer than 18 feet nor higher than 6-1/2 feet) to be
parked on a paved driveway.

Mrs. Schuman pointed out that bills effecting any changes will not be intro-
duced until the next meeting, and net approved before February 8.

Ma. Bette Bush, 200 Linden, said she did not feel trucks should be parked so
they may be seen fl~, the street, even eel a paved driveway. She felt truck
parking affects pLuberty values negatively.

Mr. Stepban Glickert, 7750 Blackberry, circulated photos to Council and said
the vehicle in the photos was there for eight months. He said he sees trucks
parked all over that do not meet present or proposed criteria and are not
ticketed. He said the laws should not be changed until present ordinances
can be uniformly enforced.

Mrs. Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel, said she and mmly others who did not attend
because of bad weather feel stru~gly that ~ parking laws should not be
changed because of a negative effect c~ p~uperty values. She suggested that
scrub inspectors should work hours other than nine to five in order to observe
zoning violations. She said Council should preserve the City's esthetics,
and that changing the restrictices would invite many people to buy trucks.
She said Council should pass on to its successors the beauty it has received
fn~thepast.

Mr. Terence Shea, 520 Westgate, returned to the mic~u~hone. He said there
seemed to be a view t_hat truck owners had low ~ but that was certainly
not the case since trucks are very ea~e~ive. He noted that every third ve-
hicle bought in Missouri is a truck. He also felt the current ordinance was
enforced unevenly. He felt it was unfair that people could not park their
trucks in their own driveway or in front of their h~mes.

M~. A1 Klevorn, 5429 Fletcher, said his truck was ticketed on Eelmar on Janu-
are 3 (Sunday), while he was at the Tivoli. He said there are no signs say-
ing that truck parking is prohibited ~1 Sundays, and he did not understand
