The p~uposed p~uperty improv~nts appear to be in order. The applicant, Ma. Shirley Stanford-Gordon, 1129 E. Parkedge, came forward. Mrs. chum asked that aaa~tional details be pruvided. Ms. Stanford-Gorden said membership in the club will be available through local schools, church- es, and ~ (Kids Under 21). Membership cards will be is~m_ed and checb~d before admittance. Ma. Stanford-Gordon said she has past volunteer experi- ence working with youngsters, and the two staff members are also experienced ycoth workers. Also, a part-time youth will handle potential problems. Mrs. Sch~nan asked about parking lot security. Ma. Stanford-Gordon said parking lot attendants will patrol when sessions begin or end. She also said two teachers had volunteered to help your~rs with their hcmBwork between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. before tha regular club sessic~ begins at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Price asked about security on the beck parking lot. Ms. Stanford-Gordon said there will be lot patrol using walkie-talkies to prevent loitering, loud musk, etc. The fh~t session is for junior hig~ ages, so there would be no parking conflicts since they don't drive. Also, most of the businesses near- by close by 6:00 p.m., so evening sessions should not pose a problem either. RP_spcraing to Mayor Majerus, Ma. Stanford-Gordc~ said m~mbership costs a one- time fee of $3.50. Mr. ~a~ms asked about weekend parking, when n~by businesses are open. Ms. Stanford-Gordon said the sessic~ f~.'c.u ncxm to 3 p.m. was for junior high stu- dents, who will not r~ parking. The secor~ sessi~l fLum 4 to 7 p.m. is al- so for junior high students. ~ session flu 8 p.m. to midnight is for high school students, but the businesses will be closed at that time. In response to Fu~. Schoceer, Ma. Stanford-Gordon said 32 parking spaces ere available for use, but 24 are exclusively dedicate_ to this p~uperty. Mayor Majerus said although sc~e aaa~tic~al information has been forthcc~ing, she would like more detailed data before ocesidering this matter, ~_ch as the number of children to be served, how the membership cards will be handled, provisions for security workers on the parking lot, etc. Ms. Stanford-Gordon said a number of volunteers have made cu~,a~nts to work with this grou~.
