A different person <br />would be the responsible party, but the rest of the application is the same. <br /> <br />#2 - Alley Dumpster Boxes: Bids have been received to provide twenty nine 3-cubic yard <br />containers, forty 11/2-cubic yard containers, and lid assemblies. Four companies were <br />invited to submit bids. The following responses were received: <br /> <br />MWC Enterprises Inc .................. $19,533.15 <br />Waste Systems ...................... $20,620.00 <br />Downing Sales ...................... $19,458.00/$18,431.00 <br /> <br />Public Works requested that the award be made to Waste Systems because 70% of the <br />City's existing containers are Waste System products and the lids are not interchangeable. <br />Therefore, Mr. Ollendorff recommends the bid be awarded to Waste Systems for <br />$20,620.00. <br /> <br />#3 - Sidewalk & Curb Replacements Annual Contract: Bid proposals for the above named <br />project are as follows: <br /> <br />Schuster Engineering, Inc ......................... $373,988.41 <br />D. Bennish Construction Co., Inc .................... $376,171.00 <br />Gershenson Construction Co., Inc ................... $388,628.50 <br />Midwest Mudjacking & Construction Co., Inc ........... $404,987.55 <br />R.V. Wagner, Inc ............................... $450,325.75 <br /> <br />Engineers Estimate ............................. $413,288.75 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends that this project be awarded to Bennish Construction Company, <br />Inc. for their best bid, when combining price and quality of work, of $376,171.00. During <br />several construction seasons, especially during the 1999 construction season, Bennish's <br />quality of work and efficiency of working with City staff has been excellent. <br /> <br />No minority contractors submitted a bid for this project; however, Bennish's workforce will <br />be 25% minority and/or women. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the consent calendar.
