Session 1780 April 17, 2000 Mr. Sharpe asked Mr. Ollendorff to make sure to let Council know the exact date of the auction. The motion carried unanimously. CITIZEN COMMENTS: Loretta Bryant, 7863 Milan, is here on behalf of her neighborhood block unit to request stop signs at 78th St. and Milan and at the Milan and Birchmont intersection, all on the east and west sides. She had gone to the Traffic Commission and their request was voted down 3 to 1. The flow of traffic down Milan is supposed to be 25 mph. They also want to ask for a stop sign at Wayne at the crosswalk to protect the kids that are going to school. They also need a stop sign at Trenton at the crosswalk as well. Mr. Munkel asked why the Traffic Commission denied their application. Ms. Bryant stated that they went by the Traffic Study done by the Police Department and they did not feel it warranted any stop signs. Mr. Schoomer asked if the Traffic Commission made a statement as to why they turned this application down. Mr. Ollendorff said that he was not sure, but he would get the minutes of the meeting and make copies of it for Council's review and then take it from there. Mr. Sharpe said that Ms. Bryant's other two requests did not come before the Traffic Commission. Mayor Adams said those two would have to go before the Traffic Commission first before Council looks at it. CITY CLERK'S DOCKET: 1. A bill was introduced by Mr. Munkel, entitled: AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 8.08 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE, THEREBY AMENDING SAID CHAPTER SO AS TO ADOPT THE BOCA NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION CODE, ELEVENTH ADDITION, 1999, WITH CERTAIN ADDITIONS, INSERTIONS, DELETIONS AND CHANGES; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8464.
