Session 1788
July 10, 2000

Inc., Paul Lerman, CEO. This is a company in good standing in University City with
headquarters at 858 Kingsland. They will be auctioning vintage wine. The date and
location have changed since approval by City Council in April.

#3 - Consolidate Radio, Office and Medical Equipment Maintenance Contract: The
Purchasing Office is continuously examining programs to reduce costs for the City. An
effective means of cost reduction has been accomplished by consolidating contracts for the
same service/supply to receive optimum pricing. The City's maintenance contract is one
area in which this effort was focused. AON Risk Services specializes in designing programs
for consolidated maintenance contracts for municipalities. A representative sample of the
City's maintenance contracts were provided to AON for their analysis to determine if the
City could benefit from such a program. The preliminary proposal submitted by AON
showed the City could reduce the maintenance costs of the contracts provided. After
review of the proposal and subsequent meetings with AON, Mr. Ollendorff recommends
that a contract be established with AON for FY2000 with the following maintenance
contracts:

Radios and related communication equipment
Typewriters
Miscellaneous fire department medical equipment
Copiers
Telephone equipment
Printshop imager/duplicator

The total cost of this contract would be $30,490 versus $39,711 awarded for these
service contracts in the previous fiscal year. Mr. Ollendorff, therefore recommends that a
contract be awarded to AON services for their proposal of $30,490.00.

#4 - City Attorney Legal Services: Mr. Ollendorff requests that the City Council approve an
hourly rate of $115.00 for legal services furnished to the City Administration and City
Council by the City Attorney effective July 1, 2000. This compensation is in keeping with
the budget.

#5 - Contractin~ with St. Louis County for Mosquito Control Services: Mr. Ollendorff
recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager or his designee to contract with
St. Louis County for mosquito control services. The proposed contract is for a five year
period. The terms of the contract include paying the County an hourly rate of $64 for
adulticiding and $35 per hour for larviciding. These are the same rates we receive for
these services under our current contract with St. Louis County.
