utilities are to be placed underground, the developer or property owner shall <br />give the Company reasonable notice of such comstruction or development, and of <br />the particular date on which open trenching will be available for the Company's <br />installation of conduit, pedestals and/or vaults, and laterals to be provided <br />at the Company's expense. The Company shall also provide specifications as <br />needed for trenching. <br /> <br /> Cost of trenching and easements to the development shall be <br />borne by the developer, except that if the Company fails to install its con- <br />duit, pedestals and/or vaults, and laterals within five (5) working days of the <br />date the trenches are available, as designated in the notice given by the <br />developer or property owner, then should the trenches be closed after the f~ve- <br />day period, the co~t of new trenching is to be borne by tbe Company. Except <br />for the notice of the particular date on which trenching will be available to <br />the Company, any notice provided to the Company by the City of a preliminary <br />plat request shall satisfy the requirement of reasonable notice if sent to the <br />local general manager or system engineer of the Company prior to approval of <br />the preliminary plat request. <br /> <br />Section 3. Construction and Technical Standards <br /> <br />a) GENERAL COMPLIANCE <br /> <br />1. The system shall be constructed, installed, operated <br />and n~intained in a manner consistent with all laws, <br />ordinances, construction standards, governmental <br />requirements, and detailed standards submitted by the <br />Company as part of its application, which standards are <br />incorporated by reference herein. Compliance standards <br />shall specifically include, but not be limited to the <br />following: <br /> <br />Exhibit A (attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference) "System Performance Specifications~" <br /> <br />National Electrical Safety Code (National Bureau of <br />Standards)~ <br /> <br />National Electrical Code (National Bureau of Fire Under- <br />writers); <br /> <br />Bell System Code of Pole Line Construction~ Occupational <br />Safety and Health Act of 1970. <br /> <br />To the extend that such codes are inconsistent with <br />other provisions of this ordinance or with local law, <br />the more stringent law, as defined by the City, shall <br />govern. <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br /> <br />
