F. General provislons--Non-Resld'ential Uses. 1. All allowable permanent signs exposed to public vie. w shall be maintained in good repair. Any signs which have excessivelit weathered or faded, those upon which paint has peeled or cracked~ or those that are a non-con- forming use# shall, with their supporting members~ be removed. Any signs which have a portion or portions missing, shall have such portion or portions replaced in a workmanlike manner and in character with those portions that exist. Z. No storage of materials, stock or inventory other than display goods offered for sale shall be permitted in window display areas ordinarily exposed to public view unless said areas are first screened from public view by draperies, venetian blinds or other rendering of the windows opaque to the public view. 3. All store fronts shall be kept in good repair and free from any defects which make them hazardous. In the event repairs to a store front become necessary, such repairs shall be made with the same or similar materials used in the construction of the store front and in such a manner as to per~ martenfly repair the damaged area or areas. Light and Ventilation--Residential, Non-Residential Uses. 1. All habitable rooms, except kitchens, and bathrooms shall have natural light, provided by means of windows, glazed doors, or skylights. A glass area of at least 10 percent of the floor area shall be provided for new or remodeled rooms, or other spaces, Existing rooms not disturbed in the rehabffitation shall have a glass area not appreclably below a total of 10 percent of the floor area. Z. An acceptable means of natural ventilation shall exist or be provided for all habitable spaces, except that for kitchens and bathrooms, a mechanical ventilation system may be substituted. A ventilation area of 4 percent of the floor area of the space shall be provided. 3. Artificial light sh~ll be provided and so distributed as to assure healthfnl and sanitary condi!ions in all rooms or spaces. 4, An interior room not having its own source of natural light and ventilation is acceptable only where the room is adjacent to an outside room which has adequate natural light and ventilation, calculated on the basis of the combined floor area of the two rooms, where the separating wafl between the two rooms has a clear horizontal opening approximately 6 feet wide. The interior room shall not be a bedroom, A minimum of five foot candles of daylight and artificial i11uminatlon shall be required at all times in all public hails and stairways, and at all exter- ior entranceways. Adequate ventilation shall be provided for all public halls or stairways according to the requirements of the BuffdinE Code. PRS - 8
