H. Light ~nd Ventilation - Non-Residential Uses. <br /> <br />Natural or artificial means of ventilation shall be provided to insure <br />a comfortable and healthful atmosphere throughout the establishment. <br />In ~ cases where any process permits injurious, toxic, irritating <br />or noxious fumes, gases, dusts, or mists; local exhaust ventilation <br />shall be provided to remove agents at its source of evolution. <br /> <br />Z. Any pipes, ducts, conductors, fans or blowers discharging gases, hot ' <br /> air, smoke, odors, or oth~r gaseous or particulate ,vastee which con- <br /> stitute a hazard or nuisance shall be removed. <br /> <br />I. Mechanical and Electrical Systems - Residential Uses.' <br /> <br />1. Plumbing fixtures and waterpipes shall be properly installed and in <br /> good sanitaly condition meeting the requirements of the Building Code. <br /> <br />Every family unit shall have heating facilities which are able to and <br />which shall maintain heat for all habitable rooms, bathroolns and water <br />closet compartments within its walls to a temperuture of at least soy* <br />enb/degrees Fahrenheit even when the outside temperature is ten de- <br />grees below zero Fahreaheit. Gas appliances designed for cooking or <br />water heating purposes shall not be considered as heating facilities <br />within the meaning of this section. Portable heating equipment em- <br />ploying flame and the use of liquid fuels does not meet the require- <br />ments of this section and is prohibited. No heating unit shall be <br />placed under any stair serving another dwelling unit. <br /> <br />An adequate supply of hot water shall be furnished at a temperature of <br />not less than one hundred and twenty degrees Fahrenheit at all hot <br />water taps. No water heater shall be installed in any room used or <br />designed to be used for sleeping purposes. No gas or oil fired water <br />heater shall be located in a bathroom, clothes closet, under any stair- <br />way, or in a confined space with access only to the above locations. <br /> <br />All habitable rooms and other appropriate spaces in each dwelling <br />shall be provided ~vlth electrical service by a system of wiring and. ........... <br />equipment to safely supply electrical energy for pFoper l]lun.zla~[ion, <br />and for the appropriate location and use of appliances or other equip- <br />ment. Existing wiring and electrical equipment to remain shall be <br />determined to be in good and serviceable condition, and installed so <br />as not to be a potential source of electrical hazard, or ignition of com- <br />bustiMe materials. Replacement of existing wiring and equipment <br />shall be made where these conditions are not fulfllled. <br /> <br />· .J,..
