PM-302.13 Doors <br />All exterior doors and hardware shall be maintained in good <br />condition. Locks at all entrances to dwelling units, rooming units <br />and guest rooms shall tightly secure the door. Exterior doors used <br />as a common means of egress for more than two dwelling units shall <br />have a self-closing device in good working order, in order to <br />protect against the entry of rats and other vermin. <br /> <br />PM-302.15 Guards for basement windows <br />Every basement or cellar window which is openable shall be supplied <br />with a framed, heavy wire screen or hardware cloth of not less than <br />four mesh per inch or other approved material affording equivalent <br />protection against the entry of rats. <br /> <br />PM-302.16 Security barst grilles or screens <br />Security bars, protective grilles and security screens shall not be <br />permitted on any window or doorway of any one- or two-family <br />dwelling, excluding basement windows. Such installations existing <br />before January 7, 1991 shall not be required to be removed until <br />such time as there is a change in the occupancy of the affected <br />dwelling unit. <br /> <br />Bars, grilles or screens on emergency escape windows shall be <br />releasable or removable from the inside without the use of a key, <br />tool or excessive force. <br /> <br />Burglar bars, protective grilles or security screens, shall be <br />maintained in a clean and good state of repair, firmly anchored to <br />the building. Hardware cloth, chicken wire, woven wire, chain link <br />or wire fencing materials shall not be used as a component of <br />protective grilles or security screens for show windows, display <br />windows or building entrances. <br /> <br />PM-302.17 Display windows and entrances <br />All display windows and entrances exposed to public view shall be <br />kept clean and in good repair. No storage of materials, stock or <br />inventory shall be permitted in window display areas or similar <br />areas ordinarily exposed to public view unless screened by drapes, <br />venetian blinds or other permanent means kept clean and in a good <br />state of repair. <br /> <br />PM-302.18 Exterior painting <br />All wood and metal surfaces, including but not limited to, window <br />frames, doors, door frames, cornices, porches and trim shall be <br />maintained in good, clean and sanitary condition. Peeling, flaking <br />and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted. <br /> <br /> (SECTION PM-303.0 INTERIOR STRUCTURE) <br />PM-303.7.1 Tolerance <br />There shall be no variation exceeding 3/8 inch in the depth of <br />adjacent treads or the height of adjacent risers and the tolerance <br />between the largest and smallest riser shall not exceed 1/2 inch. <br /> -19- <br /> <br /> <br />
