(Artiole 5 Pl-mhing Facilities and Fixture Requirements) <br /> (SECTION 501.0 REQUIRED FACILITIES) <br /> <br />PM-501.1 Dwelling units <br />Every dwelling u nit shall contain its own bathtub or shower, <br />lavatory, water closet and kitchen sink which shall be maintained <br />in a sanitary, safe working condition. The lavatory shall be <br />placed in the same room as the water closet or located in close <br />proximity to the door leading directly into the room in which such <br />water closet is located. <br /> <br />Every dwelling unit with more than seven occupants shall contain <br />additional plumbing fixtures at the rate of one additional water <br />closet and one additional lavatory for each additional four <br />occupants or fraction thereof. <br /> <br />(SECTION PM-504.0 WATER SYSTEM) <br /> <br />PM-504.4 Water heating facilities <br />Water heating facilities shall be properly installed, maintained <br />and capable of providing an adequate amount of water to be drawn at <br />every required sink, lavatory, bathtub, shower and laundry facility <br />at a temperature of not less than 110 degrees F. (43 degrees C.). <br />A gas burning heater shall not be located in any bathroom, toilet <br />room, bedroom or other occupied room normally kept closed, unless <br />adequate combustion air is provided. An approved combination <br />temperature and pressure relief valve and valve relief discharge <br />pipe shall be properly installed and maintained for water heaters. <br /> <br />(Article 6 Mechanical and Electrical Requirements) <br /> (SECTION PM-601.0 HEATING FACILITIES) <br /> <br />PM-601.1 Residential buildings <br />Every dwelling shall be provided with heating facilities capable of <br />maintaining a room temperature of 65 degrees F. (18 degrees C.) at <br />a level of 3 feet (914 mm) above the floor and a distance of 3 feet <br />(914 mm) from the exterior walls in all habitable rooms, bathrooms <br />and toilet rooms based on the outside design temperature required <br />for the locality by the mechanical code listed in Appendix A. <br /> <br />Every owner and operator of any building who rents, leases or lets <br />one or more dwelling unit, rooming unit, dormitory or guest room on <br />terms, either express or implied, to furnish heat to the occupants <br />thereof shall supply sufficient heat during the period from October <br />1 to May 15 to maintain a room temperature of not less than 65 <br />degrees F. (18 degrees C.) in all habitable rooms, bathrooms and <br />toilet rooms during the hours between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. of <br />each day and not less than 60 degrees F. (16 degrees C.) during <br />other hours. The temperature shall be measured at a point 3 feet <br />(914 mm) above the floor and 3 feet (914 mm) from the exterior <br />walls.
