(SECTION PM-704.0 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS) <br /> <br />PM-704.3 Standpipe systems <br />Hose connections shall be identified and accessible. <br /> <br />SECTION 705.0 8HAFT ENCLOSURES <br /> <br />PM-705.1 General: <br />All floor openings connecting two or more stories shall <br />protected by shaft enclosures as required by Section PM-705.2. <br /> <br />be <br /> <br />Exceptions: <br /> <br />1. Floor openings exempted by the provisions of Section 913.3 <br />of the building code listed in Appendix A. <br /> <br />2. In buildings of Use Group B, stairs connecting not more <br />than two stories with less than 3,500 square feet of floor <br />area per story. <br /> <br />3. In buildings of Use Group B, stairs connecting not more <br />than more than three stories provided the building is equipped <br />throughout with an approved automatic fire suppression system. <br /> <br />4. In buildings of Use Group E and R-l, stairs connecting not <br />more than more than two stories provided the building is <br />equipped throughout with an approved automatic fire <br />suppression system. <br /> <br />5. In buildings of Use Groups F and S, stairs connecting not <br />more than two stories. <br /> <br />6. In buildings of Use Group F and S, stairs connecting not <br />more than more than three stories provided the building is <br />equipped throughout with an approved automatic fire <br />suppression system. <br /> <br />7. In buildings of Use Group M, stairs connecting not more <br />than two stories with less than 2000 square feet of floor <br />area per story, or when connecting not more than more than two <br />stories provided the building is equipped throughout with an <br />approved automatic fire suppression system. <br /> <br />8. In buildings of Use Group R-2, stairs connecting not more <br />than two stories with not more than four dwelling units per <br />story. <br /> <br />9. In buildings of Use Group R-2, stairs connecting not more <br />than more than three stories with not more than four dwelling <br />units per story provided the building is equipped throughout <br />with an approved automatic fire suppression system. <br /> <br /> <br />
