Deletions and Changes: The following numbered <br />subsections of the BOCA National Mechanical Cede, Eighth Edition, 1993, axe hereby <br />amended by additions, insertions, deletions and changes, including the changing of <br />subsection titles and the addition of new subsections, so that such mended and added <br />subsections read as follows: <br /> <br /> (CHAPTER 1 ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMF~NT) <br /> (SECTION 101.0 GENERAL) <br />M-101.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the Mechanical Code of the City <br />of University City, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as "this code." The terms: "name <br />of jurisdiction" or "local jurisdiction" wherever employed herein shall mean the City of <br />University City, Missouri. <br /> <br /> (SECTION M-10S.0 DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL INSPECTION) <br />M-105.1 Code official: The term "Department of Mechanical Inspection" whenever <br />employed herein shall mean the Department of Planning and Development of the City of <br />University City and the term "Code Official" shall mean the Building Commissioner of <br />the City of University City or the duly authorized representative of the Building <br />Commissioner. <br /> <br />M-105.2 Appointment: Is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br /> <br /> (SEC'HON M-109.0 PERMITS) <br />M-109.1.1 Qualifications of contractors and workers: The code official shall not be <br />required to issue a permit unless the contractor and workers axe qualified to carry out the <br />proposed work in accordance with the requirements of this code. Refusal or inability to <br />comply with code requirements on other work shall be considered as evidence of lack of <br />such qualifications. <br /> <br />M-I09.1.2 Rejected Application: Rejected applications will be held on file for 60 days <br />after the date of rejection. If the required information or corrections axe not received <br />within this period of time, the application shall be deemed to have been abandoned. <br /> <br />M-109.2 Suspension of Permit: If authorized work is not commenced within six <br />months after the issuance of a permit, or if it is suspended or abandoned for a period of <br />six months after the time of commencing work, the permit shall become invalid unless <br />an application to extend this time is received prior to the expiration of the period and the <br />code official grants the time extension. Such suspension shall not relieve the owner or <br />person responsible from the obligation and responsibility to obtain a permit and complete <br />the work necessary to correct defects or restore the structure to a condition that complies <br />with applicable codes and ordinances. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
