PM-304.15 Guards for basement windows: Every basement or cellar window which <br />is openable shall be supplied with a framed, heavy wire screen or hardware cloth of not <br />lass than four mash per inch or other approved material affording equivalent protection <br />against the entry of rats. <br /> <br />PM-304.16 Security bars, grilles or screens: Security bars, protective grillas and <br />security screens shall not be permitted on any window or doorway of any one- or two- <br />family dwelling, excluding basement windows. Such instaliations existing before <br />January 7, 1991 shall not be required to be removed until such time as there is a change <br />of occupants in the affected dwelling unit. <br /> <br />Bars, grilles or screcns placed over emergency escape windows shall be releasable or <br />removable from the inside without the use of a key, tool or force greater than that which <br />is required for normal operation of the window as provide in Section PM-702.12. <br /> <br />Burglar bars, protective grillas or security screens, shall be maintained in a clean and <br />good state of repair, firmly anchored to the building. Hardware cloth, chicken wire, <br />woven wire, chain link or wire fencing materials shall not be used as a component of <br />protective grillas or security screens for show windows, display windows or building <br />entrances. <br /> <br />PM-304.17 Display windows and entrances: All display windows and entrances <br />exposed to public view shall be kept clean and in good repair. No storage of materials, <br />stock or inventory shall be permitted in window display areas or similar areas ordinarily <br />exposed to public view unless screened by drapes, venetian blinds or other permanent <br />means kept clean and in a good state of repair. <br /> <br />PM-304.18 Exterior painting: All wood and metal surfaces, including but not limited <br />to, window frames, doors, door framas, cemieas, porches and trim shall be maintained <br />in good condition. Peeling, flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces <br />repainted. <br /> <br />PM-304.19 Stairs and walking surfaces: Every stair, landing, balcony, porch, deck, <br />ramp or other walking surface shall comply with the provisions of Section Pm-709.2. <br />No flight of stairs shall have a variation in the height of adjacent risers or in the depth <br />of adjacent treads that exceeds one- half (1/2) of an inch, nor shall the variation between <br />the largest and smallest riser in a flight of stairs exceed three-quarters (3/4) of an inch. <br /> <br /> (SECTION PM-30$.0 INTERIOR S'U. JCTURE) <br />PM-305.7 Stairs and walking surfaces: Every stair, landing, balcony, ramp or other <br />walking surface shall comply with the provisions of Section Pm-709.2.
