(CHAPTER 4 LIGHT, VENTILATION AND OCCUPANCY LIMITATIONS) <br /> (SECTION PM-401.0 GE~,AL) <br /> PM-401.1 Scope: The provisions of this chapter shall govern the minimum conditions <br /> and standards for light, ventilation and space in a structure. <br /> <br /> (SECTION PM-40$.0 OCCUPANCY LIMITATIONS) <br />PM-405.3 Bedrooms: Any room used for sleeping purposes in a dwelling unit or group <br />home shall be classified as a bedroom and shall not be used to satisfy the living room or <br />dining room requirement of Table PM-405.5. <br /> <br />PM-405.3.1 Area for sleeping purposes: Every room occupied for sleeping <br />purposes by one occupant shall contain at least 70 square feet (6.51m2) of floor <br />area; every room occupied for sleeping purposes by two occupants shall contain <br />at least 100 square feet (9.30m2) of floor area; and every room occupied for <br />sleeping purposes by three occupants shall contain at least 150 square feet <br />(13.95m2) of floor area. <br /> <br />PM-405.3.2 Water closet access: Every bedroom shall have access to at least <br />one water closet and lavatory without passing through another bedroom. Every <br />bedroom shall have access to at least one water closet located on the same floor <br />as the bedroom, unless it is the only bedroom on the floor. <br /> <br />PM-405.3.3 Closets: Every bedroom shall have access to a closet opening into <br />the room, with a minimum floor area of six square feet (.56m2). Closet areas <br />shall not be counted as part of the floor areas of rooms. <br /> <br />PM-405.4 Single family occupancy: No dwelling unit, other than a group home <br />permitted under the provisions of the University City Zoning Code, shall be occupied by <br />more than a single family plus not more than two (2) other persons, all living together <br />as a single housekeeping unit. <br /> <br />PM-4OS.S Overcrowding: Dwelling units and group homes shall not be occupied by <br />more occupants than permitted by the minimum area requirements of Table PM-405.5. <br /> <br />PM-405.9 Minimum room widths: Habitable spaces shall have a clear room width at <br />the narrowest point exclusive of projections affecting less than 10 percent of the floor <br />area and exclusive of floor axeas of alcoves and entry ways not included in meeting the <br />floor area requirements listed in Table PM-405.5 which is not less than the following: <br /> Living Rooms 10'-0" (3048 ram) <br /> Dining Rooms 7'-8" (2338 ram) <br /> Other habitable rooms 7'-0" (2134 ram) <br /> <br />Exception: Kitchens shall have a dear passageway of not less than 3 feet (914 <br />ram) between counteffronts and appliances or counter fronts and wails. <br /> <br /> <br />
