NOTICF OF FMFRGFNCY RFMOVAL OF VFHICLFS. <br /> <br />Whenever the Police or Public Works Department removes or <br />causes to be removed a vehicle pursuant to Section 21-165 of <br />this chapter, within seventy-two (72) hours after the removal the <br />Police or Public Works Department shall provide notice to the <br />registered owner of the vehicle or property owner, if <br />ascertainable. The notice shall provide the following <br />information: <br /> <br />a. A description of the vehicle; and <br /> <br />The date, place and time of the vehicle's removal and <br />the reason for the removal; and <br /> <br />c. The storage location of the vehicle; and <br /> <br />d. The procedure for obtaining the vehicle's release; and <br /> <br />Be <br /> <br />The vehicle owner's right to a hearing on the removal <br />and the right to be represented by counsel at the <br />hearing; and <br /> <br />f. The procedure for obtaining a hearing. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Notice shall be mailed or delivered in some other manner <br />reasonably calculated to reach the person entitled to notice. <br /> <br />SFCTION ? 1-167. NONEMERGENCY REMOVAL OF VEHICLFS. <br /> <br />The Police Depadment is authorized to remove or cause to be <br />removed to a place of safety any vehicle whenever the vehicle <br />is: <br /> <br />Parked upon a highway, street, alley, or municipal lot in <br />a place where parking is not permitted or is in violation of <br />other parking ordinances or statutes; or <br /> <br />Parked upon a highway, street, alley, or municipal lot <br />without current state license plates issued to that vehicle <br />displayed thereon; or <br /> <br /> <br />
