( CHAPTER 29 PLUMBING SYSTEMS ) <br /> <br />(SECTION 2900.0 GENERAL) <br /> <br />2901.1 Scope: The design and installation of plumbing systems, including sanitary and storm <br />drainage, sanitary facilities, water supplies and storm water and sewage disposal in buildings, <br />shall comply with the requirements of this chapter and the 1997 Edition of the ICC International <br />Plumbing Code listed in Chapter 35. <br /> <br />2901.2 Location of water service and sewers: No part of the plumbing system, including <br />water service pipes arid building sewers shall be located in any lot other than the lot which is the <br />site of the structure or premises served by such facilities. <br /> <br />2901.3 Freezing: Water service piping and sewers shall be installed below recorded frost <br />penetration but not less than three (3) feet six (6) inches below grade for water piping and two <br />(2) feet (6) inches below grade for sewers. Plumbing pipes in exterior building walls or areas <br />subject to freezing temperatures shall be adequately protected from freezing by insulation or <br />heat or both. <br /> <br />2901.4 Separate Facilities: Separate toilet facilities shall be provided for each sex. <br /> <br />Exceptions: 1. Within dwelling units. <br /> 2. Within individual guest rooms in Use Group R-1. <br /> 3. Single-occupant toilet rooms designed for use by both sexes. <br /> <br />2901.5. Storm drainage discharge on grade: Storm water collected from roofs, paved areas, <br />yards, courts and sub-soil drainage systems serving one- and two-family dwellings, and in other <br />locations where approved, shall be permitted to discharge onto fiat areas of the site provided <br />the discharge is located at least 10 feet from the closest lot line. <br /> <br />(SECTION 2904.0 PERMITS AND CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL) <br /> <br />2904.6 Homeowner permits: Subject to all provisions of Sections 2904.6.1 through 2904.6.6, <br />a permit shall be issued to the owner or to a member of the owner's immediate family for the <br />repair or modification (including the installation of additional fixtures of an existing plumbing or <br />drainage system on the premises of a detached one-family dwelling including accessory <br />structures. <br /> <br />2904.6.1 The dwelling shall be designed and used solely for living purposes. <br /> <br />2904.6.2 The dwelling shall be occupied by the permittee. <br /> <br />2904.6.3 The permittee shall personally perform all required work. <br /> <br />2904.6.4 Prior to the issuance of a permit under this Section, the code official shall <br />determine that the request for a permit complies with the foregoing provisions and that <br />the applicant has the necessary knowledge and ability to perform the proposed work. <br /> <br />2904.6.5 The permit may be revoked by the Code Official if it is determined that work <br />under the permit is not being properly performed or that the applicant did not comply, <br />or no longer complies, with this Section. Upon such revocation the property owner may <br />be required by the Code Official to proceed immediately to procure a licensed plumber <br />to correct or complete the work. <br /> <br />2904.6.6 This Section does not authorize a waiver or modification of any provision of <br />this code or the plumbing code relating to the materials, design, installation or practice <br /> <br />-1:5- <br /> <br /> <br />
