(CHAPTER 6 MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS) <br /> <br />(SECTION PM-602.0 HEATING FACILITIES) <br /> <br />PM-602.2.1 Heat supply: Every owner and operator of any building who rents, leases or lets <br />one or more dwelling unit, rooming unit, dormitory or guest room on terms, either express or <br />implied, to furnish heat to the occupants thereof shall supply sufficient heat dudng the period <br />from October I to May 15 to maintain a room temperature specified in Section PM-602.2, dudrig <br />the hours between 6::~0 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. of each day and not less than 60 degrees F. (16 <br />degrees C.) during other hours. <br /> <br />PM-602.3 Nonresidential structures: Every enclosed occupied work space shall be supplied <br />with sufficient heat dudng the pedod from October 1 to May 15 to maintain a temperature of not <br />less than 65 degrees F. (18 degrees C.) dudng all working hours. <br /> <br />Exceptions: <br /> <br />1. Processing, storage and operation areas that require cooling or special temperature <br />conditions. <br /> <br />2. Areas in which persons are primarily engaged in vigorous physical activities. <br /> <br /> (SECTION PM-604.0 ELECTRICAL FACILITIES) <br /> <br />PM-604.3.1 Prohibited installations: The following are prohibited and their presence shall be <br />deemed a hazard: <br /> <br /> 1. Flush or semi-flush mounted floor receptacle outlets, unless provided with an <br /> approved waterproof cover. <br /> <br /> 2. Extension cords for other than short term temporary use. <br /> <br /> 3. Lamp cord used as permanent wiring. <br /> <br /> 4. Conductor supported pendant switches or conductor supported pendant lighting <br /> fixtures. <br /> <br /> 5. Loose, hanging, frayed or bare wires. <br /> <br /> 6. Grounded-type receptacles which are improperly or inadequately grounded. <br /> <br /> 7. Ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection type receptacles and receptacles marked <br /> as having ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection which are do not interrupt the circuit <br /> when the test button is actuated. <br /> <br />(CHAPTER 7 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS) <br /> <br />(SECTION PM-702 MEANS OF EGRESS) <br /> <br />PM-702.9 Stairways, handtells and guards: Every exterior and interior flight of stairs having <br />more than four risers shall have a handrail on at least one side of the stairs, and every open <br />portion of a stair, landing, balcony, porch, deck, ramp or other walking surface which is more <br />than 30 inches (762mm) above the floor or grade below shall have guards. Handrails shall not <br />be less than 30 inches (762mm) nor more than 42 inches (1067mm) high, measured vertically <br /> <br /> <br />
