Rev. 1987 <br /> <br />618.470 <br /> <br />Duty of Weighers. <br /> <br /> It shall be the duty of every weigher appointed under this Article to attend to the office of the public, <br />or private scales for which he is appointed, and to weigh every load of solid fuel, or any other commodity, <br />which may be presented to be weighed and to give the person presenting same a certificate of the gross, tare, <br />and net weight thereof. <br /> <br />618.480 <br /> <br />Weight Certificate Issued by Bonded Weighmasters - Required; Regulations as to Use. <br /> <br />(1) Each bonded weighmaster, as provided for in Section 618.450,. shall be issued a <br />weighmaster's number by the Supervisor. <br /> <br />(2) Each Bonded Weighmaster shall issue his certificate for all weights of commodities weighed <br />by him. The bonded Weighmaster's certificates shall be numbered in numerical order, shall have the <br />Weighmaster's number, the Weights and Measures Seal of St. Louis County, and the word "The <br />weigher of this scale has filed a bond with St. Louis County" printed thereon, and shall provide a <br />space for the signature of the Bonded Weighmaster issuing the certificate. All such certificates shall <br />show that true gross, tare and net weights, or net volume of sale when used, and shall also state the <br />name and address of the purchaser, and the seller's name and address and the character of the <br />commodity weighed. Each certificate shall be signed by the bonded weighmaster issuing the <br />certificate. If the certificate signed by the bonded weighmaster shall be found in the possession of the <br />driver or the person in charge of the load or delivered by such person to the purchaser, it shall be <br />considered prima facie evidence that the certificate was issued and delivered by the bonded <br />weighmaster. A copy of the issued certificate shall be kept by the Bonded Weighmaster. <br /> <br />(3) for the regulation of Bonded Weighmasters under this Chapter, there shall be charged by the <br />County the sum of Two Cents ($0.02) for each sealed certificate issued by the bonded weighmaster. <br />The bonded weighmaster shall keep accurate records of all certificates of weighing issued by him and <br />shall transmit or have transmitted to the Supervisor on the first business day of each month a <br />notarized statement of the number of certificates of weighing issued by the bonded weighmaster <br />during the preceding month. The records kept by the bonded weighmaster shall at all times be open <br />to the inspection of the Supervisor. <br /> <br />618.490 <br /> <br />Actions of Weigher of Public or Private Scales Constituting Breaches of Bond. <br /> <br /> In addition to the general fulfillment of the condition of the bond as required herein, the following, <br />among others, shall be deemed a breach of the official bond of a weigher of public or private scales: <br /> <br />First: Ira scale and weights under control of any such weigher shall be at any time of much out of <br />order as to weigh forty or more pounds more than the standard weight or forty or more pounds less <br />than the standard weight, it shall be his duty to so notify the Supervisor of Weights and Measures in <br />writing within twenty-four hours at~er the error is found to exist, and cease weighing any loads <br /> <br />WTAO(Rev)-14 <br /> <br /> <br />
