Session 1796
October 30, 2000

PROCLAMATION - SCOUTING FOR FOOD DAY:

Mayor Adams read a proclamation that declares November 18, 2000 Scouting for Food
Day. Mr. Lieberman moved approval. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried
unanimously.

Mayor Adams introduced Troop #49 from First Presbyterian Church who were at the
meeting to make a presentation with Scouting Executive T.J. Foley. The Scouts presented
Mayor Adams with the first Scouting for Food Day bag.

Mayor Adams is the Honorary Chairman for the Scouting for Food Program this year.
PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL YOUNG READER'S DAY:

Mayor Adams read a proclamation declaring Wednesday, November 8, 2000 National
Young Reader's Day. Ms. Colquitt moved adoption. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion,
which carried unanimously.

RESOLUTION - SUPPORT MSD BALLOT ISSUES #1, #2. #3. AND #4:

Mayor Adams read a resolution supporting the passage of the four propositions, which will
update MSD regulations from the 1950's and bring them in compliance with state law.

Mr. Munkel moved approval. Ms. Colquirt seconded the motion, which carried
unanimously.

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS:

AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (6 ITEMS):

#1 - Curb and Sidewalk Contracts: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval to increase the
Delmar sidewalk repair contract with Michael's Concrete Company to a total of $15,000.
The original contract amount of $6,000 has been exceeded due to several dangerous
sidewalk locations being noted over the past few weeks. Mr. Ollendorff further
recommended adding $20,000 to the contract for general curb and sidewalk replacements
with Bennish Construction Co., Inc. Due to the favorable prices in this contract we have
decided to add another block to this year's repair contract.

Both additional amounts are well within the annual street and sidewalk contractual repair
budget.

2
