Session 1806 March 19, 2001 BILL NO. 8512 - AMENDING CHAPTER 2.62 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE POLICE AND FIREFIGHTER'S RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY AMENDING SECTION 2.62.010, 2.62.020, 2.62.050, 2.62.060, 2.62.080, 2.62.090, 2.62.100, 2.62.110, 2.62.120, 2.62.150, 2.62.160, 2.62.170, 2.62.180, 2.62.190 AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS 2.62.051,2.62.151, AND 2.62.152 RELATING TO THE CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED FROM THE MEMBERS OF THE SYSTEM AND PAYMENT OF RETIREMENT BENEFITS WITH RESPECT THERETO AND TO THE PAYMENT OF DISABILITY BENEFITS. Mr. Ollendorff said that one word needed to be changed at the bottom of page 4, where the paragraph is headed, Disability Benefit. The word "equal" should be changed to "up to". The disability benefit at the highest rate is 67%, but depending on the nature of the disability and the length of the disability, it would be less than 67% at some point in the course of the disability. Mr. Wagner moved approval of the amendment. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff stated that his concern was covered in the next sentence. Mr. Lieberman acknowledged the sentence. The motion to amend carried unanimously. The amended bill was given its second reading. The amended bill was given its third reading. Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe, Ms. Colquitt and Mayor Adams.
