Session 1806 <br />March 19, 2001 <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8512 - AMENDING CHAPTER 2.62 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE POLICE AND FIREFIGHTER'S <br />RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY AMENDING SECTION 2.62.010, 2.62.020, <br />2.62.050, 2.62.060, 2.62.080, 2.62.090, 2.62.100, 2.62.110, 2.62.120, 2.62.150, <br />2.62.160, 2.62.170, 2.62.180, 2.62.190 AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS <br />2.62.051,2.62.151, AND 2.62.152 RELATING TO THE CONTRIBUTIONS <br />RECEIVED FROM THE MEMBERS OF THE SYSTEM AND PAYMENT OF <br />RETIREMENT BENEFITS WITH RESPECT THERETO AND TO THE <br />PAYMENT OF DISABILITY BENEFITS. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that one word needed to be changed at the bottom of page 4, where <br />the paragraph is headed, Disability Benefit. The word "equal" should be changed to "up <br />to". The disability benefit at the highest rate is 67%, but depending on the nature of the <br />disability and the length of the disability, it would be less than 67% at some point in the <br />course of the disability. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the amendment. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff stated that his concern was covered in the <br />next sentence. Mr. Lieberman acknowledged the sentence. <br /> <br />The motion to amend carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The amended bill was given its second reading. <br />The amended bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion. The roll call vote <br />was as follows: AYES: Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. <br />Sharpe, Ms. Colquitt and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none.
